Fatigue, Speed, Alcohol & Driver Distraction
Loss of control on rural roads is a road safety issue for the Hawkes Bay region. Loss of control road safety issue includes alcohol, speed, fatigue and driver distraction. Raising awareness of the risks is part of Road Safe Hawke's Bay road safety programme.
The team, along with Police attend local A&P Shows to educate driver’s on the risks and how to reduce this. These photos where taken at a recent A&P Show, road safety messages include driving sober and drug free, planning to party safely, taking adequate rest breaks while travelling and also to ‘txtoff’ and not use cell phones in vehicles.
