Road Safe HB is currently working in partnership with Police implementing a program on ‘safety for older drivers’. The first event was run in Wairoa. Initially the program will focus on drivers and their vehicle. Vehicle checks included the position of the seat, their steering wheel and other practical things like the mirror position etc. The program will also include a practical driver safety day. Participants will receive a refresher on driving safely and road rules. They will then put these into practice on the road under supervision. It will be a fun day but a great way to ‘brush up’ on their driving skills
