The ‘Runna Bot’ programme is a running programme coordinated by Deb Potter (Eastern police) and Mike.  The Runna Bot theme was developed originally by one of the students.  The Runna Bots (students) compete against ‘Unfiticus’ who attempts to stop the children from reaching their goal to achieve a Marathon.  Each week they attend the running programme held at the school during lunch time.  They work towards achieving the Marathon over several weeks.  Then the schools attend the Runna Bot day at the Regional Sports Park and run in teams to complete the Marathon. 

There is also a road safety theme.  The children receive a running diary which provides the road safety education.  Other activities are also included to provide further road safety education.

Jared and Iain recently presented at the Rotorua Youth Expo. The focus was on drink driving, the risks & consequences and making good choices. Jared’s and Iain’s message continues to be make the right choices, always plan to have a sober driver.
